Jesus Calling Oct 14th

Mountain of God - Third Day

There are times you have to suffer in your life, no choice. It is part of God's plan for you. You have to hit rock bottom sometimes before you can stand on the mountain. Your suffering has a place in the kingdom of God. The rough times are challenges for you to put your trust in Him. Thanking Him for the good times and the bad. People will notice how you are reacting to tough situations, it will send a message to them. It is a way to reach out to others and show them God's light. He can bring good out of every situation. I've seen it happen many times. So you may say, well why is such and such happening to me then? Well, because 1. He knows you have the strength to overcome it with Him. Not everyone has the strength to go through every situation. He knows that you can make it through. 2. There is something He wants you to learn or get from whatever may be happening in your life. He doesn't make bad things happen, but He will help you out of them and help you learn something in the process. He loves you and would never want to hurt you. If something that seemed bad happened, it probably wasn't as bad as you think. It was (hopefully) His will being done. And if it wasn't, then pray for His will to be done in your life and the lives of others. He knew whatever it was would happen, and He knows how you are going to get out of it. It could have happened so that you have the opportunity to bring someone else to know God. Don't try to run away from your fears and problems, face them. You have God. He is the most powerful being ever and you have a relationship with Him, so what is there to be afraid of? Suffering brings you closer to God whether you realize it or not. And Joy will prevail in the end of every situation. His light will shine.

Romans 8:26-28 (MSG)
Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

James 1:2-4 (MSG)
Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

Psalm 107:17-22 (MSG)
Some of you were sick because you’d lived a bad life,
    your bodies feeling the effects of your sin;
You couldn’t stand the sight of food,
    so miserable you thought you’d be better off dead.
Then you called out to God in your desperate condition;
    he got you out in the nick of time.
He spoke the word that healed you,
    that pulled you back from the brink of death.
So thank God for his marvelous love,
    for his miracle mercy to the children he loves;
Offer thanksgiving sacrifices,
    tell the world what he’s done—sing it out!

  1. This is so true. The best version of Jesus calling that I have seen yet. When we think that we can't stand being in the furnace or in the storm anymore, God will help us to come out of it and not even smell like smoke! My son is experiencing this test of faith right now, plz pray for him.
