Jesus Calling August 9th

Ephesians 4:20-24 (MSG)

But that's no life for you. You learned Christ! My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go. It's rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.

This verse is so true. Once we are saved by God, we have to give Him every last bit of our life. Everything we do has to glorify Him. Of course you will make mistakes along the way, and He will forgive you for them. But you have to life a holy life, make holy choices. Live like God wants you to live.

We are righteous in His eyes. He clothes us in His righteousness. He gave His life for us to wear the robe of righteousness. It is a gift from Him. We do not deserve to be put in this place. But we are anyways. He gives it to us. But we need not take that for granted. We have to trust Him in return. That way we will be reminded that it is a special place that He has given us. Keep your focus on Him. Keep Him at the center of your life. Do not think that it is okay to dispose of the righteousness He has blessed you with, in order to do some unrighteous thing. Instead get rid of the unrighteous thing. Just enjoy your position of righteousness. It is a free gift from God.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (MSG)
How? you ask. In Christ. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God.
